A pool filter pressure gauge shows the pressure inside the filtration system while the pump is running. A lower-than-normal reading usually means insufficient water is reaching the filter or the pump is not moving water effectively.
The problem may begin before the pump, inside the pump itself or at the pressure gauge. Common causes include a low pool water level, blocked skimmer basket, clogged pump basket, suction leak, closed valve, blocked impeller or underperforming pool pump.
